What’s For Dinner on the Dinner Cruise?
Body Glove Dinner Cruise - Roasted Airline Chicken
TOURS AND ACTIVITIES ON HAWAII ISLAND
There are a number of things to do on the big island - daytime snorkeling, nighttime snorkeling with manta rays, helicopter tours, zip lines, luaus, and yes, a dinner cruise.
BODY GLOVE DINNER CRUISE
The dinner cruise on the big island is offered by Body Glove and it is a cut above other dinner cruises. To learn more about it, see my post “Best Dinner Cruise on the Big Island.”
THE FOOD
A question I get asked a lot is, “what’s for dinner on the dinner cruise?”
Most people are expecting food that is “average” at best because that has been their experience on other dinner cruises.
The Body Glove dinner cruise does things a bit differently. The food on the Body Glove dinner cruise is prepared fresh daily by a chef and his team of culinary experts in our very own commercial kitchen using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
The dining experience begins with a salad comprised of local spring greens, strawberries, candied macadamia nuts, big island feta cheese, Kohala red onion and finished with a house-made Waimea strawberry vinaigrette.
The main course is Sea Salt-Brined Roasted Airline Chicken. This will be served with red mashed potatoes, a Hamakua mushroom and roasted garlic Marsala demi-glace, saute’ed spinach and mushrooms, and a warm cocunut dinner roll with butter.
And for dessert… a rich dark chocolate torte, finished with a bright raspberry coulis.
WHAT’S AIRLINE CHICKEN?
I didn’t know what airline chicken was, so I had to do a little research, and this is what I found:
“Airline chicken (or chicken suprême) is considered a high-quality, premium cut often served in fine dining restaurants rather than just on planes. It is a skin-on, boneless chicken breast with the drumette (first wing joint) attached, prized for staying very juicy and flavorful due to the skin and bone.”
- Food & Wine
So, rest assured, quality comes first on the Body Glove dinner cruise.
And yes, the food is delicious!
VEGETARIAN OPTION AVAILABLE
For non-meat eaters, Body Glove has a hearty and rather tasty vegetarian coconut curry dish with steamed jasmine rice available. Please book 48 hours or more in advance to request vegetarian or to inform us of any other food allergies or dietary restrictions.
